This week, we focused on memory strategies to help students prepare for exams. Many struggle with organizing information, making recall difficult under time pressure. Writing a story with six bricks. We started with s

Writing a story with six bricks. We started with spinning story from each coloured bricks. We took turns to add one colour to associate with the development; or Roger Rabit exercise is a good start. The process ended with expanding to second set of bricks. Then as they recall and retell, the story line becomes clearer and more cohesive. By the third set, each child gets to their own seat to write out the whole story with permission to make changes to the storyline which was collaboratively invented. The 3rd set of six bricks helps to denote the ending of story. Beginning-Middle-End in 3 sets of six bricks. Effectively, writers stay focused and engrossed in developing their own story.
